I have a few accounts with Liberty Bank of Arkansas in Highland. Never had a problem. Nice people and easy to deal with. I would recommend them with no problem.

The one bank I would not give my business to, just on principle alone, is the bank that Morris Street is associated with. In his associations with the Dry side of the wet/dry debate in Sharp County these past few years, and by his actions and words in trying to defeat the wet argument, he has shown to be, in my opinion, someone I would not trust and would have no time for. Therefore, by default, the bank he works for will never see me step foot inside. I'm sure there are people who like the way he has handled the wet/dry issue, however I am not one of them. Enough said.

Hi Forum,

Frankly, I'm a little confused about the reason nobody seems to be interested in speaking on this topic. Our local banks are a vital part of our life here. Many folks from the "outside" considering a move here would be happy to know more about financing in the area.

Hi Forum,

I have heard great things about our local banks -- almost a loan on a "handshake" culture. Looking back, although I had an excellent mortgage broker, I wish that I had gone through local banks for the loan itself. I'm wondering about other folks' experiences and also if the current economic conditions have made borrowing from our local banks much more difficult as it has been elsewhere in the Country.
