Re: LITTLE THINGS I LIKE ABOUT CHEROKEE VILLAGE
Ticks seem to be out in a bigger number already. I was hoping that the past cold weather in Jan/Feb would have held them back some but it seems you just can't kill those ticks and chiggers.

Chiggers. Just kidding. Can anyone tell me who has a long view of life around here whether the chigger and tick situation is about the same as it ever was, or is better, or worse?

I like exploring a new side road off the main roads. Still amazed what Mr. Cooper cut through those woods and mountains.

Re: LITTLE THINGS I LIKE ABOUT CHEROKEE VILLAGE
Hi Forum,
One "little thing" I like about Cherokee Village is that Parlago failed!. It was a rude effort by an outside entity to ride on the back of John Cooper's vision while pretending it was their own with a kind of pseudo "village" within the Village. John Cooper had real vision. Parlago was an interloper.

Hi Forum,
The fist time that I took my wife to the Thunderbird Center, she was standing by the side of the pool looking out at the Lake. She turned to me and said, "It's the Rivera of the Ozarks." Now that's catchy!

I like going down the roads that are barely developed or off the beaten path out on the Fulton side. You can run into some great views and tucked away houses.

That's a nice way of putting it. I just wish those trout would stop breathing and start biting for me!

Hi Forum,
I like the "steam" that rises from the lakes in the summer mornings.

Wizard of Oz
I like the way the turkey buzzards circle overhead especially early in the morning--reminds me of that scene in Wizard of Oz with all the flying monkeys. In the winter, they circle a lot to create warm drafts of air--fun to watch when you're bored. I like spotting deer too and a heron sometimes.

When taking a summer walk on the Trail at Town Center, I like to head off the path to the nearby stream to sit on a rock and feel the cool air coming off the rushing water.

The pies at the Carol's Lakeview. Great old fashion taste like Grandma's. Strawberry Rubarb is a hit with me!

Hi Forum,
Really like finding a rock with some sea fossil in it. Thats right-- seas fossil! Lots of folks are surprised to discover this part of Arkansas was once under the ocean!

Really like the Cajan Turkey on their homemade deli bread at the Village Mart -- homemade chips too. Seriously good.

Hi Renee,
I still remember the first time my son went off that high dive. He was quietly proud of himself. When you get up there and see to the bottom of the pool, it does seem a long way down! Thanks for sharing.

My kids would say the high dive at Omaha! I say the quiet of living where we do.

The first time you pace out your building lot from the Plat. Nothing like the feeling -- "This is mine!"

My son hitting me up me for some change so he can get a "nutty buddy" ice cream cone at the concession at Omaha pool and then watching him eat it on a hot summer's day.

Re: LITTLE THINGS I LIKE ABOUT CHEROKEE VILLAGE
great posts, guys! I like Trout's Elvis quote too. I like the way everyone waves when you drive by--even the police do it. I like meeting new folks at the Copper Feather. I like the way people stare at you at Carol's Lakeview when you're not a regular. Especially when I wear my CIA t-shirt.

Hi Trout & Mike,
There's a sweet little spot to watch the sun set at Thunderbird Center. It's the concrete dock near the pool area. There's even a couple of table to sit at. Sometimes I just bring a pepsi and watch the ripples.
Trout, I go with you -- "EVERYTHING."
