Re: Friends of the Hardy Library in Hardy Arkansas
Hi Forum,
I have long said that I think our little Hardy Library is a gem. There is a book sale to support the Library mentioned in the recent Village Journal:
Hardy Library semi-annual book sale Oct. 7-8, some volunteers needed
Wednesday, October 5, 2011
The Semi-Annual Book Sale sponsored by the Friends of the Hardy Library
will be held Friday, Oct. 7 and Saturday, Oct. 8, at First Baptist
Church of Hardy located at 5th and Church Street, next to MacDonald's
restaurant. Shoppers are welcome from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. each day. Flooding
caused cancellation of the May book sale, so there will be a full year's
supply of books to choose from.
Donations of books should be delivered to the Baptist Church on
Thursday, October 6 from 8:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Books may be taken
to the Hardy Library prior to the sale. Any type of book is welcome
Please Bring Your Own Sturdy Bags to Carry Books Purchased.
The Book Sale benefits the Sharp County Library in Hardy.
The Friends of the Library is a non-profit entity and depends on the generosity of community members.
Volunteers are needed to help set up the Book Sale in the church on Thursday, October 6.
The set-up is from 8:30 a.m. until finished at approximately 11:30 a.m. Call Jayne Abele at 870-257-3842 for information.

Friends of the Hardy Library in Hardy Arkansas
Hi Forum,
The Hardy Library is a little gem of a place. They work extremely hard there to provide the best quality of services that their budget can sustain. It is a quiet and nice place to read local papers or use the internet. There is a small but really decent DVD collection. They keep up with popular books and try to be balanced in what they buy.
It is hard for a library which is suppose to be a place of honest learning to be fair and balanced in communities that can have strong political and religious leanings. I truly want to thank them for their efforts to serve everyone and their courtesy to the public.
