Interesting column on this now very national news story. I'm not the only one who thinks this is a black eye on Arkansas given to Arkansas by a punch in the face by one ignorant slob on a tiny school board who will one day more than likely catapult his 15 minutes of fame into something bigger, no doubt.

So, speaking as the state, we are sorry about those ghastly and evil ravings of that person who tragically sat on the board of one of our small rural districts. But please understand three things:

(1) He got duly elected by the local patrons, which means the rest of us in the state had nothing to do with that.

(2) He did not actually run anything and was but one vote on that little local board.

(3) But if you get right down to it, he was, and is, the entire state’s responsibility and problem, and we want you to know that, as a state, we do not hate homosexual children, nor do we want homosexual children dead, and we will do what it takes to make sure that these unspeakably ignorant and hate-filled pronouncements are forever condemned, isolated and discredited.

I have heard that McCance has a carpet cleaning contract with that school district. Cozy, isn't it? This man doesn't even deserve the dignity to resign, much less continue to make money from the schools. It looks shady at best and something is really beginning to smell. I wonder if the feds are looking into all of this and his contract with the school district. Did the district get other competitive bids? Did he have influence in getting his business to get the contract because he was sitting on the school board. Like I said, something really stinks here and where there's a bad stench, it usually means a skunk is nearby.

I am just about without words on this low class, piece of filth who somehow, and I cannot fathom why, was on the School Board of the Midland School District in Arkansas until recently.

I will let these links speak for themselves, but I do ask one question....

How did someone with very little common sense, no couth, obvious ignorance, and an abundance of vile hatred, make it onto a school board? I am embarrassed for that school district and the people who voted him in.

No matter how you feel on the issue of homosexuality, and of course he has the right to say what he feels, nevertheless, someone like this should not coach or teach the youth of his community anything, let alone sit on a school board anywhere in this country. That is just simple common sense.

This is just another set back for Arkansas and more fuel for the fire in the eyes of people across the country who like to make fun of, denigrate, and laugh at this great state, and that at the least should make all Arkansans and all who love the state of Arkansas furious.
