Re: FULTON COUNTY SIDE
I agree. That Boy Scout camp area is a very pretty area of the village.

Re: FULTON COUNTY SIDE
Hi Forum,
i want simply to say how beautiful the Fulton County side of the Village is and worth exploring by visitors. One stop really worth visiting is the new Boy Scout camp Mr. Cooper made. If you take a trip down the road to that camp, you will go down "memory lane" of what the area must once have been like when Cooper first had his vision.

Hi forum,
Does anyone know historically why the Sharp side of Cherokee Village was developed so early on and the Fulton side only more recently? Did it have to do with the sequence of the lakes?

Re: FULTON COUNTY SIDE
We should be get rid of the city and go back to SID. Too much politics in city hall. I'd rather deal with SID only and not both of them.

FULTON COUNTY SIDE
Hi Forum,
Something that can be confusing when looking into Cherokee Village is the fact that lots and homes are found in two counties -- Fulton County and Sharp County. The simple story is that CV as a City went through the legal process of defining itself in overlapping counties through a process of annexation. This issue was not without some drama around the pros and cons, but as a practical matter it means very little to a property owner other than where your deed gets recorded. Fulton County is less developed than Sharp County but Fulton has the second largest lake (Omaha) and some of the highest-end homes are in that area. Fulton also has one of the two recreation centers -- the Omaha Center where a lot of local group meetings are held, has a gym, indoor basket ball court, and two very nice pools. Sharp County has the Thunderbird Center, Town center, and City Hall.
This is a rough overview. The bottom line is that a CV property owner can use facilities anywhere and the City is an organic whole. Hope that helps.
