Hi Forum,

The orphanage appears to have been based out of Memphis and hardy was used as a summer area for the kids. Quite a few children went through the orphanage and there are websites aimed at reconnecting these children with one another to share their past experiences. The sponsoring organization in the 1920's was St. Mary's Episcopal Church built in Hardy.

Hi Forum,

Among the many interesting parts of Hardy's history is that there was an orphanage there. Does anyone know the years it existed and exactly where it was located? I undetstand that there was also a one doctor hospital in Hardy as well. Were they in any way connected?
