It's just a simple checking on traffic counts. No big deal and it's a good thing to know CV is not being ignored by the state DOT.

Thanks trout. Much relieved it's not a "Big Brother" thing. It just seems to have happened all of a sudden without notice or explanation.

Just used to count traffic then the data is reviewed for whatever the State may need to do. Like paving needs, widen, general traffic count for a particular period. I don't think it is a big brother deal like the stop light cameras are in most large cities.

To count cars? Who knows. I actually think it's to get three of the five people holding the shovel up some work. They don't even know why. I have seen those things all over the place over the years but have never seen anything change. I have even seen one laid through a pothole. Now it would seem to me that seeing how these are the people responsible for fixing the roads that the pothole would get fixed, no, someone has to report the pothole first, someone important helps a lot. Maybe they are planning an interstate through CV to speed up the trip from Hardy to Saddle.

Now there are some in the 4 lane, also. What are they tracking and why?
