Quorum courts and other small courts I can't see a valid argument for not letting cameras in.

COURTS Empty COURTS

Hi Forum,

There was a local event in the Quorum Court that made some national news. It appears that there was a move to stop videoing of court proceedings. However, audio recording was allowed. There was a debate of whether "sunshine laws" about open access of courts to public and media was being compromised. I'm all for transparency, but I understand even the Supreme Court doesn't permit video to avoid lawyers "grandstanding" during arguments. What are your thoughts on the role of cameras in the courtroom?
