Re: Does anyone ever build anymore and what about the old clubs
Hi JB,
Chuck has provided solid information. I got this package from City Hall when I first purchased a lot several years back. The package is helpful on every front -- code, contractors, etc. As Chuck said, building of late has been slower because of existing home prices in today's market. Still, if you have a prime lot or a unique design, there's nothing like starting from scratch. Chuck is also pointing to a great spirit in the Village to spruce things up and recapture more of the original vision. I'm excited about that with many others. Welcome.

Re: Does anyone ever build anymore and what about the old clubs
Hi JB, I was at City Hall yesterday and asked Liz about home builders in the area. She has a packet of information that she can send out to anyone that's thinking of buying building lots in the village, or for anyone planning to build a new home in the area. The packet includes a list of contractors that do perk tests and possible septic layouts. in addition to a list of general contractors. Hope that helps some.....

Re: Does anyone ever build anymore and what about the old clubs
Hi JB, Yes there are some great home builders in the area. Like all areas of the country, new building is down. Residential remodels are slightly up from last year. You can contact City Hall (870) 257-5522 for information and names of qualified builders. Now would be a great time to look into building as construction is fairly slow. There is also a resurgence of the original concept of Cherokee Village. I am sure if you have read Paul2CV's, Insider History of Cherokee Village in this forum, you know that vision. I feel in the next couple years, you will see a renewed effort to improve and expand all that attracted retirees and younger people alike, looking for a more peaceful place to live, work, and raise a family here in Cherokee Village. This is a perfect time to consider the move. Hope that helps some........

Does anyone ever build in CV anymore? We like our lot location and it's time to move? Also are any of the clubs of the 70's and 80's still functioning - like Iowa, quilting, RC, etc when we talked with one of the big realtors all she was interested in was selling a house in 15 minutes.
