Re: Happy New Year
I don't know about a Santorum/Paul ticket unless it was forced on them. They got pretty testy with each other during the debates. We'll have to see how everything plays out. I looks like Perry is about to drop out of the race after his Iowa showing.
To me, it looks like on the Republican side that it's shaping up to be a losing contest. I say that because it's starting to look like the nominee will be another moderate candidate, the same as the last Presidential election. The nominee won't inspire the Republican base to get out, work for the election, and vote. Those who do vote will be voting against Obama instead of for a candidate. That usually doesn't work out well.
Add to the mix the chances that there will be a third party candidate which will split the conservative vote. We saw how that dog and pony show worked out when Ross Perot ran in 1992.
I think Obama's chances of being re-elected are pretty good. What the country will look like at the end of a second Obama term is scary as it's uncharted territory. He's already saying this week that he is going to start Governing by Executive Order and bypassing the Congress. His Press Secretary said the country could expect 3 new Executive Orders a week. If the Republicans win the Senate in addition to the House next November I would expect a continuation of this Administration Policy of rule by Presidential Decree in the next four year term.
Have you noticed how many Americans are moving out of the country? It seems to be a case of "Amerika, love it or leave it, while you still can".

Re: Happy New Year
Hi LAC,
I was actually thinking Santorum/Paul. Mitt doesn't have an honest conservative card in his deck. I'd like to see a real debate in this Nation. Mush vs mush won't take us anywhere

Happy New Year
Hi Forum,
After the parties and the "plop, plop, fizz, fizz," comes the reality of the New Year and our hopes for things. How would you respond to the following hopes:
1) For the Nation
2) For Cherokee Village
3) For yourself
All the best, Paul2CV
