For those who don't know, check out Write For Arkansas

Here's info about them.

Strong communities need strong local news. That’s the premise behind the Write for Arkansas initiative from Arkansas Community Foundation.
To increase the volume and depth of local news coverage across the state, we’re partnering with five community newspapers.

  • Madison County Record
  • Areawide Media of Salem
  • Russellville Courier
  • Texarkana Gazette
  • Stuttgart Daily Leader

Here’s how it works. Arkansas Community Foundation made two-year
grants to our partner newspapers. Each newspaper hired an additional
reporter to cover local issues. The reporters’ stories appear in their
home newspapers and are compiled here at
We Believe a Single Reporter Can Make
a Big Difference.

We’re tracking their stories to learn about the unique issues each participating community faces. And, we’re inviting the reporters to blog about their experiences to learn more about the impact their stories are having.
With partner newspapers and reporters in all four corners of the state, Write for Arkansas is statewide news, done local.
Write for Arkansas is project of Arkansas Community Foundation and is supported by the Arkansas Press Association and funded through a grant from the Knight Community Information Challenge, a project of the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation. Additional funding comes from local sponsors
