Church Dress Codes Empty Re: Church Dress Codes

Stink eye! LOL. I think I know who you could be speaking of! That's very funny. I am a member of the Cherokee Village UMC and I must admit the 1030 is mostly elderly and retirees, traditional and not too much change. Contemporary services is not what they are after for the most part in my opinion. As to dress, you dress as you feel appropriate and if somebody doesn't like it, well don't let it worry you. I know the minister doesn't care and only cares that you are there enjoying worship. I know many summer visitors try different churches because there are so many for the population we have. You'll find one that fits you fine.

Church Dress Codes Empty Church Dress Codes

Post by springriver_chick Thu Mar 03, 2011 11:03 pm

I usually visit CV Methodist when I'm vacationing. Sometimes, however, I forget to pack my "church clothes" or just dont feel like dressing up quite honestly. The last time i was there we went to the 10:30 am service anyway although I only had jeans and a nice sweater to wear. One of the 'old timers' gave me the "stink eye" after the service was over, so I assume that was a "no-no". What is the dress code at some other churches in the area. Is the 8:00 am CV Methodist casual? Is the contemporary service at the CV Lutheran Church casual, etc. etc. Do women only wear dresses and skirts intead of slacks at the Assembly of God church?
