Re: POSTAL SERVICE
Hi Gus,
The Post Office in Town Center is great and the lady in charge very nice. I'm concerned about what you are saying about theft of mail. Has that been a problem in the Village?

Re: POSTAL SERVICE
In MO, kids in the neighborhood would steal the mail so we never put mail in the box and put the flag up. Didn't want to take the chance. Here it does take longer for mail to come and go but thats cause its rural here. I put mail in the box now with the flag up and have had no problems. The lady at the post office in town cneter is very nice and its nice to not wait in a line. I have never been inside of the Hardy post office though so I don't know about that one.

Re: POSTAL SERVICE
Hi trout,
Thanks for your input and observations. Am I understanding you correctly that if I stick a Christmas card in the mail in Hardy to someone in Cherokee Village that it goes to Little Rock first? Wow! As for carriers along rural lines, I think what you describe is pretty typical. The attempts at cost controls by employing temp non-Fed workers by the Post Office for rural routes is likely to get mixed results.
By the way, thought you might find the last post on the Insider History of interest. Early post there speak of the postal and phone situation as well.

Re: POSTAL SERVICE
If mailed in the village it goes to LR to the mail sort center and then out to the addressed location.
As to local delivery we have had problems with our "mailperson" off and on. And have reported it to the Hardy PO manager. It seems the rural carriers sometimes just don't deliver or pickup even with the flag up. I have seen them just drive by. Also we sometimes get mail delivered late in the afternoon or evening. I guess that comes from the way the routes are laid out or maybe new people delivering.

POSTAL SERVICE
Hi Forum,
I am curious about the experience others have with the number of days it takes to receive mail both from within and out of State. I am curious if anyone knows where the mail goes to be sorted by the central Postal System and wether or not the NE part of the State is "out of the loop" in some way. It simply seems to me that the system is often a couple of days slower than elsewhere -- even rural areas and I'm curious if anyone has a theory as to why. Again, I think this is a central Postal system issue, not a local one.
